Marathon Galveston Bay Refinery restarts reformer

 

Marathon Petroleum is restarting a reformer at its 593,000-bpd Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas, said sources familiar with plant operations.

Marathon shut the 140,000-bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic..

cracker (FCC) after an early morning malfunction, the sources said.

The cause of the malfunction is under investigation, the sources said.

Marathon began restarting the 65,000-bpd reformer, called Ultraformer 4, on Wednesday, the sources said. 

Marathon spokesman Jamal Kheiry declined to comment.
